Amazing Sunset - Manhattanhenge May 31st, 2011

I wish I have a professional camera...These pictures were taken using my little digital pink camera today May 31st, 2011 on 57th St. & 8th Ave. , near Columbus Circle in Manhattan New York City. According to Chanel 5 FOX news, the best places for photos and viewing are along 14th, 23rd, 34th, 42nd, and 57th Streets. The next time "Manhattanhenge" will occur is July 11th and 12th, 2011. Hope you will catch it. I'm sure I will try to see it again and on 34th St. I bet the view on 34th street with the Empire State Building in it would be fantastic. Well, next time in July then...

I was on 57th St. exactly 8:15pm today May 31th . 2011, and I catched the amazing sun. At sunset around 8:17pm the sun was fully illuminate every cross streets from the west. The sunset was so amazing, so beautiful!!! It's a beautiful evening in New York City. I'm so grateful that I was able to get out there and enjoy this special evening, and witnessed the wonderful sunset.

"Manhattanhenge" that what they called, only happens twice a year, when the setting sun aligns with the east west streets of Manhattan's main streets grid above 14th street. Its only for four-five minutes for the stunning Manhattan sunset. A local man on the street mentioned that there were perpendicular shadows that line up exactly with sidewalks, street corners and painted lines. Is that for real? So amazing!!! I was WOW.

Traffic was slowed down, many cars were stopped, people were stopped and taking pictures right in the middle of street...Everyone WOW and had a great time with smiles and joy on their faces. I was so happy to be there. In case you miss it today, here are some pictures and little video. But what I saw is way way way more amazing, and more beautiful...
